Prescription renewal

If you need to renew a prescription and your health condition has not changed, this can now be done without visiting a doctor. This service is designed for those taking medications on a long-term basis. If the dosage is appropriate and no changes to treatment are needed, the prescription can be renewed quickly and without a doctor’s appointment.

No appointment is required. The new prescription can be issued within just one business day. Upload a copy of your previous prescription and wait for confirmation. Once approved, a new electronic prescription will be issued, which can be used at pharmacies.

Important: This service is only valid for prescriptions issued in Portugal. It is suitable if you need to continue an existing treatment without changes.

Prescription processing time: 1–2 business days.
The prescription will be sent to the email address you provided / SMS .

Requirements for renewal:

 - The prescription must have been issued in Portugal. If your previous prescription was issued in another country, a prior consultation with a doctor is required.

To issue a new prescription, you must provide a copy of your previous prescription, including:

 - Patient’s full name (must match your details)

 - Date of issue

 - Prescribed dosage of the medication

Additional information:

 - The doctor determines the number of packages and validity period of the new prescription.

 - If new symptoms appear, a consultation may be required before renewal.

 - Prescriptions issued outside of Portugal cannot be automatically renewed.

 

Prescriptions are issued by certified doctors, and the electronic document is accepted at all pharmacies in Portugal.
